  13. We've got REALLY weird compile problems with our systems.  Hopefully someone
  14. out there can think of why?

  16. 4 machines: all have 8mb RAM, running 6.0.4, ram cache off, MPW shell size set
  17. to 4096 (4mb).

  19. 2 of the machines are IIci's (both NOT using on-board video--each has an Apple
  20. (of course) two-page monitor and a color monitor connected to the appropriate
  21. cards).  They take TWO (2) hours to build our MacApp/C++ program through a
  22. Projector script.

  24. The 2 machines are Mac IIs (w/ color and two-page monitors too). They take 1/2
  25. hour to do the same thing.

  27. The projector script checks out the files (read-only) to folders that it
  28. creates (the IIci's are actually faster doing this), and then runs MaBuild to
  29. build the program.

  31. One library takes 5 minutes to build on the II and 30 on the IIci's.

  33. Can anyone out there offer any explainations on why a II should build 4-6x
  34. faster than a IIci?
