- Sub: Wierd building problems
-
- We've got REALLY weird compile problems with our systems. Hopefully someone
- out there can think of why?
-
- 4 machines: all have 8mb RAM, running 6.0.4, ram cache off, MPW shell size set
- to 4096 (4mb).
-
- 2 of the machines are IIci's (both NOT using on-board video--each has an Apple
- (of course) two-page monitor and a color monitor connected to the appropriate
- cards). They take TWO (2) hours to build our MacApp/C++ program through a
- Projector script.
-
- The 2 machines are Mac IIs (w/ color and two-page monitors too). They take 1/2
- hour to do the same thing.
-
- The projector script checks out the files (read-only) to folders that it
- creates (the IIci's are actually faster doing this), and then runs MaBuild to
- build the program.
-
- One library takes 5 minutes to build on the II and 30 on the IIci's.
-
- Can anyone out there offer any explainations on why a II should build 4-6x
- faster than a IIci?
-
- Strange, Strange, strange!!
